Grade Levels # of Students Quality of Ed Grade LEH Meeting Student Needs LEH Communication Concerns Valued Could Do Better Feedback from Children Additional Comments
Grades 1-3 1 Excellent Very Well Excellent Yes
Grades 1-3, Grades 4-6 2 Fair - Larger classes sizes compared to bass River elementary have not been benefitting our children Somewhat Excellent Sometimes
Grades 1-3 1 Fair - Principal Cummings is awful and would rather ignore situations instead of finding solutions so our children can have a proper education Somewhat - Only reason my child thrived was because of the teacher she got halfway through the year Poor No
Grades 4-6 2 Fair Not well Fair No
Pre K, Grades 1-3, Grades 4-6 3 Fair Somewhat Fair Sometimes
Grades 1-3 3 Fair, Poor - My child (GJM specifically) has had nothing but struggle due to lack of care and help from the school. She has suffered academically because I haven't been able to have the school on the same page as me even AFTER the school ASKS ME what to do for my child showing behavioral issues. The only thing the school wanted was a DIAGNOSIS that wasn't needed. After many calls and meetings and the teacher LOSING my child at school, having to pick her up multiple times because they don't know "how to handle her" I came to the point where I have to inconvenience myself and family to homeschool ONE child to avoid bullying from adults! I was more than willing to do work with my child at home and give feedback of what worked and when the teacher would ask me what has helped and I would give her advice, I was shut down. THERE ARE TOO MANY KIDS TO A CLASS, WE NEED MORE TEACHER-STUDENT ratios Not well - Because of there being SO many kids to one teacher, my child (like many others) have difficulty focusing on the tasks at hand. Because of this negligence, the only response is that "your child needs a diagnosis for special Ed" which is NOT the case with my daughter at all! She spent 3 years doing remote learning as a toddler, first full year back in school we moved and switched schools where the ratio was 2:11 with student to teachers. Poor - I would much rather have more paper information letters to be sent home rather than class dojo because with many kids in the schools I can't always find info on one student in GJM when 2 are getting nonstop messages from FP I haven't had a chance to do this yet, but I know when I express concerns to the school of ongoing issues at GJM, I'm shut down and my child has fingers pointed at her like she's an issue. Which I know my child isn't perfect and has her moments, we all do! But this is a child needing an education and she is being passed off back to me because they're overwhelmed by their own workload they can't handle a child tapping their fingers or having a bad day! MORE TEACHERS! Teacher aids! My child hates school since coming here from Tuckerton. Even though most of her time from the beginning was remote/ hybrid, she hates the way she feels treated. She cries before going to school, or fakes Illnesses where the nurse also fakes fevers to get her out of the school. Since spring, her teacher also gave up on her and would send her home with ALL of her days work every day which was a full Manila envelope and took us days to complete. FP is not an issue, I speak specifically for GJM.
Grades 4-6 1 Good Well Good Sometimes Would be nice to have a say on Little Eggs school board beings that our children go there. We miss Bass River Elementary.
Pre K 1 Good - ECC goes above and beyond Well Excellent Yes - We have been pleased with our child's experience at Little Egg Harbor District
Grades 1-3, Grades 4-6 3 Good Somewhat - I feel as if children aren't pushed as much as they could be. They take it easy on them when they are capable of much more. Good I have not had the opportunity to share concerns with the district Bullying is a big issue and not handled very well Little egg harbor school district doesn't take into consideration it's a different town and sometimes a bit of different weather patterns. When little egg harbor has barely any snow yet we get 3-4 inches it's concerning sending the kids to school. We need to be included with weather and forest fires.
Grades 1-3, Grades 4-6 4 or more Good Well Good I have not had the opportunity to share concerns with the district
Grades 4-6 1 Good Well Excellent Sometimes Open bass river school back up A lot of bullying
Grades 1-3 1 Poor - My son has had a hard time finding teachers who want to be there. There are very high student to teacher ratios, and even more disregard to ratios. I am extremely dissatisfied. Not well - My son is very bright yet struggles with ELA and reading. They pull him out of class daily for a not progressive small group, where there is ZERO communication. Poor - Not planned out well at all! No - My son is OVERLOOKED. When issues are ever brought up, they are handled as if we are LUCKY LEH has taken on our kids, and should be grateful. Have more bass river advocates in admin and around the school. Make it more of a welcoming environment. My son does not like going to school. I was very excited and thriving at Bass River at his age, and it is disheartening to see SUCHH A CONTRAST and lack of personal interactions!!!!
Pre K, Grades 1-3 4 or more Poor - There are way too many kids in the little egg school district and they aren't getting the attention they need and deserve. Not well - My son struggles, and I had to bring it to the teachers attention multiple times before anything was put in place for him. And when it was put in place it was only for 30 minutes a day. Poor - You wait for days to hear an email response back from anyone, the teacher barely ever checked any messages I sent her. No - I feel the situation with my son and him not getting the proper help he needs in certain subjects went ignored for a long time. There are way too many kids in little egg. Bass River needs their own school. The amount of young families with young children in this town warrants a school.
Grades 1-3 3 Poor - School does not communicate with families, the bullying is out of hand on bus and in school, schools are over loaded with children Not well Poor No Brinv bass river school back
Pre K 1 Poor Not well Poor I have not had the opportunity to share concerns with the district
Grades 4-6 1 Poor Not well Poor No
Grades 1-3, Grades 4-6 2 Poor - Too many kids per classroom. No extra after achool clubs. No extra help outside of the regular hours of school. Not well - I feel like the bare minimum is met. No communication with teachers (probably because they have way too many kids in a classroom to keep up with) unless you keep asking for communication. Fair No Open a school back up! So many bullies and nothing done about them.
Grades 1-3 4 or more Poor Not well Poor No yes
